It's a game-changer

That’s what we said when we developed our UX iLab (SM). With constant requests for testing iPhone and iPad applications and simulators, we decided to take our years of experience with mobile device testing and create a comprehensive lab setup that would provide clients with unsurpassed capability, capture every interaction, reflect the on-the-go nature of the devices and can be set up anywhere – world wide.

Why it's awesome

The UX iLab (SM) includes a screen capture of the iPhone or iPad screen. This is a huge advantage as the participant can hold the device at any angle and observers are still able to see the screen perfectly. Observers are able to see the user interaction with the device (where they are pressing), a clear view of the screen that is not occluded by the participant’s hand or glare, and a participant face shot.

We would recommend the UX iLab if you are testing:

  • iPhone/iPad application
  • iPhone/iPad simulator
  • Simulator built for other platforms (Android and BlackBerry)
  • Web-based application for a touch screen device

User Centric Advantage

We capture every task and interaction with your device or application, providing:

  • Projections to observation rooms (local or remote)
  • Unrivaled screen capture that no other facility can offer
  • High quality digital recordings for later review
  • Total mobility – our setup can be used at any location

Been there, done that

No one can match the experience in mobile space we bring to each project. We were one of the first companies to work on next generation gesture-based touch systems and developed requirements for gesture vocabularies. We have also conducted the first independently-funded research on the Apple iPhone in 2007. Results from the three-phased research program have been published and presented at US and international conferences.

High Definition

Using the latest technology, no matter how the participant holds the iPhone or iPad, observers (local or remote) can clearly see the image on the screen.

Total Mobility

Participants can interact with the mobile device without camera obstruction; resulting in more relaxed, comfortable interviews.

Flexibile

Observers can view sessions through a one-way mirror and via large screen monitors displaying participant face shot, mobile device screen, and interaction with the mobile device. Remote observers also benefit from this projected view.
