Abstract

The main goal of this third iPhone study was to understand the usability issues associated with text entry using the iPhone’s soft keyboard. First, this study compared text entry performance on the iPhone to text entry performance on a hard-key QWERTY device (Blackberry) and a standard numeric keypad phone (Samsung E300).  In addition, text entry errors on the iPhone and the hard-key QWERTY phone were thoroughly analyzed to understand potential differences in accuracy.
