Robert Schumacher to Speak at HIMSS Webinar on Technical Evaluation, Testing and Validation of the Usability of Electronic Health Records

Managing Director Robert Schumacher, Ph.D., who has been heavily involved in shaping how usability of EHR systems are evaluated, will present at a HIMSS sponsored webinar discussing the NIST document, Technical Evaluation, Testing and Validation of the Usability of Electronic Health Records.  According to the NIST website, the goal of the initiative is to “examine the human factors critical to designing usable EHRs and will guide (the) industry in usability engineering practices.”

The webinar will be held on October 27 and registration is required.  Other presenters include Lana Lowry, Usability Scientist, Lead NIST Health IT Usability Program and Emily Patterson, Assistant Professor, Ohio State University.
