Bob Schumacher, Managing Director at User Centric, presented at the fourteenth annual WritersUA Conference today in Palm Springs, California.
Bob presented the session, "Usability: What's In, What's Out, and What's New." The purpose of this presentation was to survey shifting trends as well as advances in technology. Participants had the opportunity to explore a few things in depth - notably eye tracking, remote testing, and usability tools. These trends and techniques were used to demonstrate how user researchers can both enhance and extend their abilities; significant advances in the tool set now allow for better and more precise measurement of behavior that ultimately feeds back into improved usability.
The 2006 WritersUA Conference included over sixty sessions. The conference is known for providing the most comprehensive and timely information specifically designed for user assistance professionals. The 2005 roster represented 45 of the United States, 5 provinces of Canada, and 9 other countries.
