Gavin Lew, Managing Director of User Centric, has been cited as a finalist for the Illinois Information Technology Association's Rising Star award in a recent article in the Chicago Sun-Times.
The March 14, 2005 Sun Times article, titled "Tech stars to glow at Planetarium gala," Gavin is mentioned as one of three Rising Star award finalists along with Opus Group CEO Michael Callaghan and Jai Shekhawat, CEO of Fieldglass. This year's award ceremony was held at the Adler Planetarium on March 15. The Illinois Information Technology Association (ITA) started the annual City Lights awards program "to honor successful tech companies that are guiding lights and future luminaries," the article states.
Describing Gavin's accomplishments, the article notes: "His company launched in 2001 with no capital investment. Last year he boasted sales of $2.6 million."
To qualify for the Rising Star award, each individual and their representative organization needed to exhibit success in product innovation, services, or business approach, and have emerged from a start-up to become a solid marketplace presence.
