Amy Quinn, User Experience Specialist at User Centric, spoke to graduate students at the University of Michigan in February 2005. She lectured on the heuristic evaluation process at User Centric and the application of User Centric's upcoming software called CUE (Custom Usability Evaluation). A student group at the University of Michigan is also working with User Centric to evaluate and beta test CUE prior to its commercial release.
"CUE" stands for Custom Usability Evaluation and is a decision support tool that supports the heuristic evaluation process. CUE's primary feature is the ability to locate, capture and apply valuable heuristics using only one application. It also streamlines the deliverable process by allowing the user to capture screen shots, add callouts, and quickly create reports. CUE is currently under development. Once released, the tool will be made available for purchase and download through the User Centric web site.
