Gavin Lew, Managing Director, and Heather Olson, User Experience Specialist for User Centric, both spoke at the 48th Annual HFES (Human Factors and Ergonomics Society) Annual Meeting in New Orleans this week.
Heather Olson presented her research on ways to manipulate the visual presentation of menu items on small displays (such as cellular phones or other handheld devices) to help aid users in navigation through hierarchical menu systems.
Gavin Lew participated in a panel discussion on teaching Human Factors and Ergonomics (HFE) principles, guidelines, methods, and techniques to lay audiences. Co-panelists included Kerith Zellars of Intel, Ajoy Muralidhar of State Farm, and Molly Stevens of User Works. Gavin specifically focused on presenting the practices that are used at User Centric to engage clients, teach employees and position HFE to executives through deliverables.
